Zach Ward
Zach Ward serves as the Student Services Specialist in the Curriculum in Global Studies here at UNC Chapel Hill. In that role, he advises, supports, and engages the 650 students enrolled in the Global Studies undergraduate major and the 30 students pursuing the Global Studies M.A. degree. He loves working within a unit that provides students the chance to explore issues of global significance, their application in specific geographic areas, and the differing impact of these global dynamics across world regions, through engagement with crucial issues of the movement of money, people, and ideas on a global scale. Born and raised in St. Pauls, NC, Zach is particularly committed to emphasizing the "global is local" sentiment in the Curriculum, encouraging students to engage with globally-oriented issues and communities both here in the Triangle area as well as throughout the state of North Carolina. Outside of the office, you may find Zach touring his favorite barbecue restaurants throughout the state, binge watching documentaries, or talking about his love for sneakers & sneaker culture.
